Over 100 Patients Benefit from CT Scan Facility in Bandipora in two months | KNO

Bandipora, Jan 05 (KNO): After the introduction of Computed Tomography (CT) scan at District Hospital Bandipora in November of last year, over a hundred patients have utilized this service, besides a notable decrease has been recorded in the overall referral percentage, officials data said here on Friday. Official data available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reveals that, since November of last year, over a hundred patients have accessed the CT scan facility for the first time, alleviating challenges previously faced by patients during emergency cases. Among the patients seeking medical assistance, several presented with severe ailments and injuries, including cases of accidents, and utilized the facility promptly. Meanwhile, an official said that the operationalization of the CT scan at District Hospital Bandipora has led to a substantial decrease in the overall referral percentage for these patients. "We used to refer every patient in need of a CT scan facility, which proved challenging for us in some cases," the official said, adding that it now brings considerable relief to patients across Bandipora district. “It was a long-standing demand from the people of the district, and hospital authorities consistently prioritized raising this issue with higher authorities. Finally, the district hospital secured this much-needed facility,” the official stated. “We achieved this milestone with the support of the UT government and the higher authorities of the health department,” he added. The official also mentioned that there are a few more governance issues on which the hospital authorities are diligently working to address. “We consistently bring these concerns to higher authorities in each meeting for the benefit of our hospital, and gradually, they are being addressed one by one,” he added—(KNO)
